Happy Mothers Day - 2008

Happy Mothers Day Mom, Mom-in-law, Grandmas Dean & Bonnie, Aunts, Sisters, Friends and any other Mother reading this.
This past weekend has been fantastic. My mom came into town Friday night. She watched Alexa on Saturday while Greg and I attended a sealing for a couple that we taught the Temple Prep Class to. (I lost my recommend but luckily our Bishop was going to the sealing too so he got me in. By the way... I found my recommend about 30 seconds after we got home. AHHH)
After the Temple Greg planned a great Mothers Day evening. He pampered my mom and I with cards and flowers and a fabulous dinner at Flemming's... YUM! Alexa was so good at this fancy restaurant and we all ate enough for a week.

Sunday morning we awoke to a yummy breakfast then headed off to church. Then Greg made us a great dinner and then took my mom to the airport while Alexa & I took naps. Do you hear a theme here.. LOTS OF GREAT FOOD!

I love being a mother and I love being the daughter of a wonderful mother. My mom is the best. We are so much alike and have so much fun when we get together. It is so hard not having her close to us but I am so grateful for our many travel opportunities to get to visit often. (Thanks Dad for working for the airlines all these years... It has paid off for us these past 5 years of living away). My mom was gung-ho about getting the nursery put together. When we woke up this morning she had the guest room torn apart and ready to move it into the 4th bedroom so we could start the nursery. All Greg had to do was unscrew the bed and move it over. The rest was done. She also pampered me all weekend. Taking charge of Alexa, doing laundry, dishes, changing diapers and spending hours with the Monkey so that we could go to the Temple and get other things done. She was awesome! I love my mommy!

We are also getting prepared and excited for Greg's parents to come here in a few weeks. Greg's mom is also wonderful. We miss her so much. She raised the best son in the entire world and is one of the worlds greatest Grandma's. She will do anything for us and has taught me so much. I am a better person because of her and I am so grateful for her love of me and my family.

All day Alexa kept saying Happy Mothers Day, until she forgot the "mothers" part then she would tell me, "Happy Birthday". Thanks Greg & Alexa for a great Mothers Day.

This succession of photos is great. At the Temple Alexa & my mom hung out in the gardens and visitors center. I took these pictures when we were done. Alexa and Greg were playing by a fountain and she turned around, saw Grandma and started running full speed ahead for a hug. She was screaming Grandma, Grandma, Grandma over and over again with the most excited face. It was so funny.

Well i'm glad someone remembered it was Mother's Day!! Curt totally forgot until we got to church and he heard someone say "Happy Mother's Day". It was hilarious to see his face when he realized he had forgotten! He did get me an awesome gift and had already given it to me. So much for breakfast in bed though!! :)

I love you too! I had a great time. Greg treated me like a Queen! The best reward for being a parent is to watch their children become great parents. You and your brothers are raising great families. I can't ask for more.
