Smarty Pants!

I love my friend Jill, she had a great post on her blog the other day that was so funny to read. I laughed and agreed that not every day is perfect in our lives either (see her post here: http://bodineclan.blogspot.com/2008/02/not-perfect-world.html). Believe me, I do all of the things that Jill mentioned in her blog and more. But although life isn't perfect, it isn't as fun posting the bad days as it is to post the good days. Looking back on the fun posts makes me happy and helps me remember the good times, I don't want to remember the crappy days!
I agree, every child is smart and talented. I think that it is fun to read everyone’s blogs about the things their children are learning. I have read posts in the past about people thinking that it is bragging, I don't think so. Today I'll add my own "brag" post! :)
I am amazed each day at the things my daughter learns. She is such a copy cat lately that I try to count what she learns by listening to random people at the store or on the radio. At the grocery store Saturday I counted 5 things that she copied from people that we walked by. One, not so good. She says it constantly and I am trying to persuade her to change it up. She says, "OH GOSH". I am shooting for "OH MY". It isn't working too well.
She is now learning her letters. At 20 months (bragging time) she can say the entire alphabet as well as count to 10. She also knows the sounds of the following letters: W, A, F. Random letters I know. When I try to get this on the video camera she would rather play with the camera than "perform". I'll keep trying.
Today I put on her favorite video, "Elmo's favorite Songs" and the small print came on the screen before the show. She pointed to the letter M and said, "M".
Some of her funny quotes are, "Sup Dude", "I'm cute", "I'm Goofy", "I'm a toad" (she got that one from her Grandma Lynn).

She also knows a few colors: Green, Red, Purple and usually pink and blue.
Lastly, she is a lover. She LOVES her babies and always wants to make sure they are fed, clean and wants to put them to bed. She shares her sippy cups, binkis and blankets with them. She also constantly gives them kisses and loves.

Here are some attempts (of about 20) trying to get her to count to 10 or say the alphabet. I had the viewer looking at her so that she could see herself. That is why she was saying "hi Lexa".

She obviously loves to play with the camera. We got to five, FINALLY!

Here is one of her doing her sounds. She is easily distracted.

Last Video Today. Sorry about her lunch on the table. She did her alphabet... being goofy. But at least it is close. We'll get a good one some day!

Wow! She is amazing! There are lots of preschoolers who still can't make the F sound. Keep it up. Songs help so much when teaching all that formative stuff. She is adorable!!

Girls are so darling! My Helene is 22 months old now.
I just adore how innately girls are nurturing. She loves her babies and does so many helpful things.
