Alexa started watching the "Baby Signing Time" videos between 7-8 months old to learn sign language. She is now really good at it. The last month especially she has picked up a lot of new signs and communicates with them. I had a really cute video of her doing about 20 signs but... we think that she deleted it off my camera while she was playing with it. I made another one this morning. She doesn't do too many on this new video but it gives you an idea.
Here are some of the fun words that she has learned to sign; baby, time, eat, milk, water, more, all done, cat, dog, bird, banana, fish, hat, please, mom, wash hands, shoes... there are more I am sure but I can't think of them all right now.
She is also a jabber mouth. She talks and talks and talks and talks. Most of what she says is gibberish but she definitely says some "real" words too. Probably only Greg and I can understand her. Here are a few; mom and dad of course, cat, kitty, dog, water, fish, kiss, yes or yeah, amen, wash wash, scrub scrub (from her video), hi and more. Her new favorite thing to say is WHAT??? as loud as she can. She'll do it at the perfect moments too when we are mid sentence talking to her she'll just shout, "WHAT??". It is really funny.
On a non Alexa note.. My friend Tara is pregnant and just found out that she is having TWINS!!! How exciting! Congrats Tara!
