I have been the worst blogger since we moved back home. Greg's mom just told me that she felt like she knew more about what was happening with us when we lived in Arizona. I'll try to get better but for now, here is a recap.
Christmas - As always, Christmas was great. The kids get spoiled and we gorge ourselves with great food.
Disneyland - I went to California twice. The first trip the entire Chazen clan drove to Disneyland and had SO much fun. We all stayed together and wore ourselves out each day. It was fantastic. Gavin loved Buzz Lightyear and the Toy Story Rides the best and he can still be found singing "Small World" while he plays.
Alexa, my mom, Sierra, Chris & I took another short trip about a month later to watch Sierra compete her solo in Miss Drill National Competition in Irvine. Irvine is super close to Disneyland so we wound up there again. It was a great trip. Alexa had the time of her life with my full attention and full control of the rides. She went on Big Thunder this time and said that she loved it but doesn't want to go on it again (the dark tunnel was a little scary). She was also determined to go on the Tower of Terror. We got into the first dark room with the short movie and she FLIPPED. It was funny and sad. She was hysterical. She didn't end up riding. 1/2 of us rode and the other 1/2 waited with her and then we switch. I love that ride. All in all it was a lot of fun and I'm so happy that we went.
Arizona - My good friend Britany had baby #4. I flew out to visit with her and take some pictures of little Owen. It is always fun to go back to AZ and of course see Brit and relax. It feels like I never left.
Easter - Easter as always was fun and sugar filled. The kids love to decorate eggs and hunt for junk. We come home with so much candy it is kind of sickening. Greg is good and uses it all up on his soccer team as after practice treat so we don't end up eating it all.
Kindergarten - Alexa is registered for Kindergarten and we went to her orientation a few weeks ago. She was thrilled and can not wait for Kindergarten to start. She is reading now and it is probably her favorite subject in pre school. I'm so proud of her and love that she loves to learn. She is most excited to ride the bus I think! :)
Church - Our ward split at the beginning of the year. We split in half and my half was joined with a small branch from up in Yellow Fork Canyon. It was so sad to lose 1/2 of our friends. I was sure we were doomed when on the first day in the new ward we went to Relief Society and one of the handouts with the roll was about "managing menopause", BUT, I really love our ward now and love the people that have joined with us. It is a good group and it has been fun to get to know them all. I was called to Cub Scouts and wanted to die. Lucky for me they met at a time that I couldn't so I was quickly switched to Primary and the ward Photographer! :) Greg has multiple callings. He is the ward athletic director, the Priest and Teachers basketball coach, he teaches Elders Quorum and teaches the 12 year olds in Sunday School. He is a busy guy.
Potty Training - My new favorite words are "Mom, I need to go potty". Gav picked up on potty training basically in 24 hours. He was waking up dry, doing both "jobs" on the potty and proud of himself. UNTIL... we went out to dinner with my parents and he had to go #2. I took him in and he did it easily but his bum got a major splash when it happened and it scared him to death. Now, he is afraid to go #2. He is still great with the other 1/2 but says "I can't" over and over when he really needs to go. Poor kid. Hopefully he'll get over that soon.
