Poor Gav... story to come tomorrow.

Yes that is blood all around his mouth and chin!

This last Monday my sweet friend Kristin from AZ and her cute kiddo's spent the day at our place while they were on their fall break. We had my two nieces, Sierra and Molly come babysit for a few hours in the afternoon so we could "work" and play. Kristin and I headed to the hospital to do a newborn photo-shoot. Just as we were about to finish up, Sierra called hysterical. She had been carrying Gavin down the stairs and they slipped and fell. Sierra hit her head on the stair railing and Gavin smacked his face on a stair. I immediately called my neighbor Jason who is a police officer. He came right over and took care of both Gavin and Sierra. Molly thank goodness kept the rest of the kids in the play room so that there was no mass hysteria from witnessing the gushing blood. Greg made it home before I did and rushed Gavin to the urgent care. They immediately took x-rays of his face and jaw and assessed the cut in his mouth. Nothing was broken thank goodness. The cut was quite deep but since it was in the mouth they opted against the pain of stitches.

Poor Gavin was hysterical for quite some time and Miss Sierra, I feel so bad for her. She feels so bad and didn't stop crying for hours. :( The poor girl has a huge goose egg to show for it too!

Gav is on some good pain killers and looks worse by the day. His voice is hoarse too. I'm not sure if he hit his throat too or if it something else. I'm debating taking him to his pediatrician tomorrow just as a follow up to make sure all is healing well.

Oh no!!! Sierra said he looked like a bullfrog...kinda does. I'm so glad he didn't need stitches or anything. Hope he heals up quickly!

So sad! Mouth injuries are so scary because they bleed so much, but they also heal pretty quickly. Hopes he feels better soon!

Awww man- I won't soon forget that day :( I still feel SO bad for Gav AND Sierra. And wow- I cannot believe my kiddos didn't even know anything was going on. I was thoroughly impressed with both your nieces tho! They handled it all so well.
Thank you for your hospitality and we truly think you and your fam are one of the kindest ever!! Come back and see US soon :)
