Greg Update

Greg is really funny about me putting info on here about his current health situation but I'll do it anyway.
After a 2nd trip to the ER about 4 weeks ago he was referred to a neurologist to get to the root of his problems. They have done MRI's, sleep studies, blood test and today 2 painful nerve tests. The blood tests, MRI's & sleep studies all came back clear, which was good. The tests today looked great too but the final results are not in for a little bit. The great thing about all of the good news is that some of the scary things that we thought could be wrong, are not. The bad news is, we still don't know what is going on with him.

The tests today were crazy. They first put electric shocks on his entire body and shocked them one by one to see how his muscles and nerves would react. He said that this was often quite painful. The 2nd test they took a long needle which was attached to a stimulator and poked him over 40 times on all parts of his body. Arms, legs, spine, throat sides etc. The crazy one I thought was when they poked him under his chin about an inch in to get to his tongue. YUCK. Greg said that one actually wasn't too painful. Luckily I didn't view either test. He said he got quite sweaty and shaky with the painful ones but they all looked good. This is great.

The nurse who gave him the first test (she is in med school right now and gave her opinion not as a professional but from things that she is learning) thinks that it is his back which he has had problems with forever. She thinks that it is just extra aggravated and compounded with stress to make his body freak out. Let's hope she is correct and that this is an easy fix.

I hate to post with out a picture so here is one of Greg in his Scouting uniform. haha

I am so glad everything looks good so far. Eric has had lots of weird medical conditions also. We have found that stress, diet, blood pressure, and sleep patterns affect the way his body behaves. I am sure that a bad back thrown in the mix would definately affect everything. I will keep praying for his health and your sanity. Love to all of you. Can't wait to see you next month.

Love,
Jenn
ps. Cash that check!!!

Tell Greg to hang in there. My gosh, it sounds like he could be a Grey's Anatomy episode. I hope they can find out what is the root of the problem so he doesn't have to be subjected to all those insane tests. Phil said he needs to get better so they can play on a bball team when you guys move up here. So funny, how Phil will say that when I know he just wants to have Greg feel better. Anyway, I guess I will translate for him.
